Mosquito Control Efforts
Based on feedback we have received from the public, Clay County will NOT move forward with using the EPA approved chemical Naled for aerial mosquito control that was scheduled for this evening Thursday, September 21, 2017. However, in keeping with our current practice, ground-based mosquito control trucks from Clay County, contractors, and our state partners will be dispatched throughout the county to spray using low-volume mist and EPA approved Permethrin and Malathion-based products. Our goal is spray the entire county over the next few weeks to control the mosquito population and protect public health. Should you have any concerns please reach out to mosquito control at 904-284-6335.
